Cake in Steel Tumbler - Dalgona Cake


Life's too short to say no to cake. It's true. Cake is delicious, baked in a steel glass, giving an illusion of dalgona cake.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

Serves: 2

INGREDIENTS

  • FLOUR - 1 CUP 

  • BAKING POWDER - 1 TSP 

  • BAKING SODA - 1/2 TSP 

  • SUGAR - 1/2 CUP 

  • OIL - 1/4 CUP 

  • CURD/YOGURT - 1/2 CUP (SUBSTITUTE 2 EGGS) 

  • WATER - 1/4 CUP 

  • VANILLA ESSENCE 

  • TUTTI FRUTTI - 1/4 CUP 

  • FLOUR - 1 TBSP



STEPS

  1. Take maida, baking powder, baking soda & sugar in a mixing bowl, whisk it well.

  2. Then add oil, curd (substitute 2 eggs) & add water gradually whisk it well.

  3. Now add vanilla essence. Whisk well without any lumps & keep it aside.

  4. Then mix tutti frutti with a 1 tbsp flour, add this to cake batter and whisk gently.

  5. Take a regular steel tumbler, grease with oil, then sprinkle flour & tap off the excess flour. 

  6. Fill 3/4th batter into the prepared steel tumbler.

  7. Place the stand & preheat the pan for 5 mins on medium flame, after 5 mins place the tumbler and cook it on a low flame for 25-30 mins (until a toothpick inserted in the center of cake comes out clean) or bake in a preheated oven at 180c for 25-30 mins.

  8. Cool down completely alteast for 30 mins then invert to demold and slice.
