Bakery Style Coconut Bun / Thengai Bun / Dilpasand / Dilkush


Soft bun with delicious sweet coconut, tutti frutti, nuts, raisin & sugar stuffing inside. It's one of the famous bun that you can find in almost all bakeries in Tamilnadu, India.

Serves: 3

INGREDIENTS


For making coconut bun

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour/Maida

  • 1 tsp Yeast

  • 1 tsp Sugar

  • Water as required

  • Pinch of Salt 

  • 1 tbsp melted Butter


For Stuffing

  • 3/4 cup grated coconut

  • 1/2 cup Tutti frutti

  • 2 tbsp raisin

  • 2 tbsp cashew

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 pinch of cardamom powder

  • 2 tbsp Milk/melted butter for brushing



STEPS



  1. In a bowl add all-purpose flour/Maida, 1 tsp sugar, pinch of salt, melted unsalted butter, yeast & water, knead for 10 min. Coat with oil and let it rest for two hours

  2. In a mixing bowl add grated coconut, tutti frutti, raisin, cashew & sugar (powder 3 tbsp sugar along with cardamom powder). Mix well and keep it aside.

  3. Now once the dough is doubled divide it into 6 or 8 equal parts and roll them little thick.

  4. On top of the sheet place the stuffing in the center and close the edges. Let it rest for another 15 min.

  5. Now brush with milk or butter and bake at 350 F /175 C for 20 - 25 min.


Our delicious Sweet coconut bun is ready to be served.
